Defiance
Defiance is based on the book “Defiance: the Bielski Partisans” and a story which revolves around a Jews partisan groups who begin their journey of hope in to the forest of Eastern Europe. In 1941, a huge massacre of the Jews took place, where all the Jews ran for the lives. The story begins with the three Bieslski brothers who lead the Jewish partisans’ community towards freedom, hope and happiness in the world where the Jews had to die to live. Starring Daniel Craig as Tuvia, Liev Schreiber as Zus, and Jamie Bell as Asael, the movie is directed by Edward Zwick. Tuvia is a compassionate leader who leads them in the thick forest and sets camps for the refugees. Together with his brothers and other young men’s he find food and other needs to live their lives. At first Zus helps out but later he joins the Russians resistance to attack the Nazis. Tuvia and Zus find their forest love Lilka, and Bella respectively and young Aseal moves close to Chaya and marries her. The camp finds happiness in the tiniest thing they can despite the challenges the face to survive in the cold with scarcity of food and medicines. Their freedom maybe doomed entirely in the towns of Germany but they feel their liberty in the forest camp.
Havoc and chaos in the New York City due to a incurable virus which seems to spreading all around the world. It is unstoppable and people of New York City evacuate the town to find safer place to live. Robert Neville belongs to the military camp and is a brilliant scientist who wants to find an immediate solution to stop the virus and stays back in the New York City sending his family away. But his wife and son die in an accident when they try to leave in a helicopter. Later he becomes the only survivor in the city and goes around the city in search of companions with his pet dog Sam. The city is seen of a drastic change with trees overgrown and wild animals in the streets. The infected people are also in the city but they are nocturnal and do not show any activity in the daytime. Robert makes test on the infected people to see whether he can bring about a solution to stop the virus. At last he finds a companion Anna, with whom he decides to live up his life. Will he be able to overcome the difficulties and bring back to ”the infected” to normal?? Starring will smith and Alice Barga the movie is a sci-fi action thriller directed by Francis Lawrence.
The movies takes us back to the nineteenth century where the city of London is found with huge number of audience who have a high passion for magic, magic shows and magician. Hugh Jackman and Christian bale performs the role of the two magicians who begin their life as apprentices and become two great magicians. When they work as apprentices Hugh Jackman’s wife dies in an accident which he thinks as the mistake man by Christian bale. There starts the rivalry between the two and high competitions prevail through out the story. Jackman gives a good acting performance as he plays a highly complex role every time he tries to find the trick behind his opponent’s trick. The screenplay is such that it begins with the trial scene where Borden is convicted that he had murdered Angier. But latter Borden is shocked when he sees Angier in front of him. Is Angier really dead which the world believes?? Or is it a magic trick of Angier to plot against Borden and fulfill his revenge. The movie is 2 hrs 10 minutes is a thrill filled drama with mystery every second. The direction and screenplays makes us watch it carefully and closely.
To Kill a Mocking Bird is academy award winning movie for best actor and screenplay is based on Harper Lee’s Pulitzer. Gregory Peck plays the role of Atticus Finch and is the main role that fights against the act of racialism which is practiced in his town. The place is Alabama town situated in the south of United States. He is a lawyer and father of two children, Scout and Jem. He takes utmost care of his children as they kids don’t have their mom. He teaches those moral values and the basic manners to respect others. Jem and scout are accompanied by dill, neighbor who comes for summer vacation. They explore the mystery behind Boo Radley, who later turns to be the savior in the story. The screenplay is slow and doesn’t show any location other than the town of Alabama. Thrill filled scenes are experienced when the kids move in boo Radley‘s house and the movie shows the real nature of young minds as they pile up the treasure given by boo secretly. The story has many lessons to teach and the trail scene of Tom Robinson makes the audience feel that there should have been little justice in the judgment given in the rape case against Robinson.
Its 2035 A.D, technology has developed vastly and robots are programmed to do everyday works. More friendly robots used all around the world that robots become a trusted member of the family. One day, detective Del Spooner is called by the united states robotics (USR) to investigate the death of the renowned robot scientist Dr. Alfred J. Laning is dead. Spooner feels that the robots do not follow the laws of robotics and the suspects that the reason behind the death of Dr. Alfred is a robot which calls itself sonny. Sonny is a unique robot which is the only key to the case and Spooner doesn’t believe sonny’s verdict. Will Spooner be able to prove that the robots can break the laws of robotic and murder humans?? Can he convince everyone in the world where robots play a key role? Has the unique robot sonny murdered its master?? The movie has separated a major part of its time in visual effects to bring robots to life. Will smith who does the role of the detective makes us feel every moment of the movie. Will smith and robot sonny combination to fight against the master-computer robot makes the climax an interesting one!
WALL-E is an animated movie which produced by PIXAR and directed by Andrew Stanton. The story is about a love struck robot wall-e and how it achieves its love. The movie shows the future earth, about 700 years from now, which is left with all kinds of trashes and is no more a place to live. WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) is a lone robot in the earth which left behind to allocate and dispose the wastes. WALL-E is a unique robot and it has a pet cockroach which is its only companion. WALL-e is dust-covered solar robot which treasures all interesting things it finds in its work place. Day in and day out it performs the same duty. One fine day, a huge spaceship lands on earth and there comes the most beautiful robot WALL-e has ever seen-EVE. WALL-e is love struck and also saves eve from sand stone. Wall-e presents eve with a plant and eve becomes deactivated. WALL-e has never seen like that and it is troubled to its love standing for days with a blinking green beacon. Why did eve come to earth and why did it get deactivate when it saw a green plant?? The writer of the movie has envisioned a future earth and has given a real piece of romance between the robots. 
Brendan Fraser in the lead role, ‘THE MUMMY’ is an action filled adventure movie which takes us back into the history of Egypt and to the world of the mummies. Together with Rachel Weisz, John Hannah fights the mummies who are raised by a group of archeologists who go around the pyramids of Egypt. Arnold Vosloo who does the role of the Egyptian high priest Imhotep has proved himself to be an epitome of a villain. The high priest was mummified alive and crushed to death as a punishment for killing the Pharaoh Seti and for having illegal relationship with the pharaoh’s mistress Anck Su Namnun. Now in 1923, the mummy is awake and the world is great danger. Richard ‘Rick’ O’Connell (Brendan) tries to fly back to England with his lover Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel) but she tells him to fight against the mummy of the high priest. Meanwhile the high priest kidnaps Connell’s love to sacrifice and bring back Su Namnun to life. The visualization of the movie is perfect with the special effects makes us fell that the mummies are around us. Stephen Sommers is the director and he done an excellent job by bringing the mummies to life.
After tasting success in the movie “the mummy”, Stephen Sommers and his crew decided to take the sequel –“the mummy returns”. ‘Rick O’Connell marries Eve and they raise their son Alex who forms the key to the basic plot of the sequel. The movie starts eight years after defeating the Egyptian high priest mummy, Imhotep and in Eve finds the “bracelet of Anubis” in their archeological search. It is the only key to control the scorpion king by which he can get the power over the Army of Anubis and control the world. Now rick has a double task to defeat high priest Imhotep and the scorpion king. Imhotep is raised from death by a mysterious woman Meela. They kidnap Alex and march to defeat the scorpion king. Rick and eve are too worried and go in search of Alex with the help from their friends. Uncle Jonathan Carnahan too accompanies them. Brendan Fraser shows enthusiasm in the sequel too and his fight to get back is son makes the movie interesting. Rachel‘s beauty grows when she comes as the daughter of the Pharaoh. The movie is a action filled adventure movie which makes the audience to enjoy a heart throbbing climax.
Lightning McQueen, a hotshot rookie race car misses the piston cup at the brink of success. As a tie- breaker Lightning is called for the piston cup championship at Los Angeles, California. On his route towards California, Lightning McQueen losses the path and goes in route 66 in the night. Without the headlight Lightning damages the roads of town of Radiator Springs. The rookie race car, tries to explain that it has to reach California for the tie breaker, but it is punished by the inhabitants of radiator springs to make up for damaging the belongings of the inhabitants. The race car becomes friend to a rusty old tow-truck and grows a close relationship with Sally Carrera, an attractive lady lawyer. McQueen feels it a waste of time at radiator spring and tries to escape but in vain. It carries out its sentence and feels comfortable with inhabitants that it forgets about its tie-breaker completion. Accidentally one day it finds the piston cup champion Doc Hudson but the race car is not allowed to reveal other about doc by doc himself. Doc tells the outer world about the hotshot rookie race car and McQueen is now in the race none to support him. But to his surprise it sees its entire friend supporting him to win the race. Will it win the piston cup and bang the championship?
The world’s fastest Indian is the movie of a kind which makes one to keep the spirits high and to deterministic and achieve the target. Starring Anthony Hopkins as Burt Munroe in the main role, the basic plot of the story is how the old Burt takes his bike Indian to Bonneville and clocks his bike. Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah is place in United States where the annual Speed Week motorcycle event takes place. The old and wise Burt is a person who can makes friend so easily and is always with his bike to bring speed in it. His dream is to clock his bike as the fastest but his heat disease threatens him that he may not able to achieve his dream. Roger Donaldson is the director of the movie which is given with high quality of professionalism and perfection. Antony Hopkins as Burt of Invercargill at the south end of New Zealand takes up high challenges to clear the customs and to reach Bonneville. He buys a car in Los Angeles and drives taking his bike to Utah to participate in the event. But at first he is not allowed to participate because of his age. Will he be able to clock his bike with all those difficulties??
